Created to support the
GCE AS / A2 Health & Social Care (OCR) qualification,
this
Interactive Course Guide links into the full

Digital Library. Thus users have access to probably the largest single
compilation of learning and teaching resource materials on Health and Care in
the UK.
The guide follows the course topics as follows:
- Unit 1: Promoting quality care
- Unit 2: Communication in care settings
- Unit 3: Promoting good health
- Unit 4: Health & safety
- Unit 5: Caring - additional needs
- Unit 6: Working in early years
- Unit 7: Health as a lifestyle choice
- Unit 8: Complementary therapies
- Unit 9: Caring for older people
- Unit 10: Care practice and provision
- Unit 11: Understanding human behaviour
- Unit 12: Anatomy and physiology in practice
- Unit 13: Child development
- Unit 14: Mental health issues
- Unit 15: Social trends
- Unit 16: Research methods
Units are broken down into several topics, each of up to several
pages, which link students directly to relevant library resources. The user has full access to the whole
library, complete with the more traditional search engine and drill-down navigation.
In this way, the guide acts as a sort of librarian, pointing users to
the right sections and giving examples of specific relevant resources
whilst giving them free rein to research the whole collection.
